Allen and Naomi were friends in high school so it wasn’t hard for them to build a relationship when their paths crossed 15 years later. They’ve been together for a year and a half now and Allen has noticed that when he tells Naomi ‘I love you’, he doesn’t always get the same response.
After asking, Naomi said her family was never “lovey-dovey” so it makes her uncomfortable as an adult. Allen knows Naomi loves him, and while he’s tried to let it ride, he can’t help but wonder how this might affect their future kids.
