Our favorite DC girl – actress Taraji P. Henson – says although she auditioned for the role of Olivia Pope on the hit series ‘Scandal’, she knew it was meant for Kerry Washington. She said:
“I’m not that actress that wants to do everything. Thank God, Kerry Washington got it. That was her blessing.”
Listen… Shonda Rhimes is TV gold. That would have been an amazing opportunity, but it’s good to see Black women giving props. Taraji was meant for Cookie on ‘Empire’ and Kerry was meant for Olivia Pope, for sure.
