Naomi Campbell and Giuseppe Cipriani Holiday Party - December 5, 2005

More than a decade after the demise of Roc-A-Fella Records, fans still want to know what happened to the legendary label that brought about such an abrupt end.

The Roc was one of the most successful labels of its time, launching the careers of one of the biggest rappers to ever do it—co-founder Jay Z. But many still don’t know all the behind the scenes details that played a part in the label’s come-up.

According to reports, Dame Dash has teamed with producer Lemuel Plummer to develop a show that will offer a “brutally honest account” of the Roc-a-Fella story, including “Dash’s relationships with Aaliyah and Rachel Roy,” as well as the end of his business partnership with Jay.

Lemuel, best known as the producer of the reality shows Preachers of L.A. and Preachers of Atlanta on Oxygen, took to Instagram to celebrate the news. He posted the photo above, saying,“I’m very excited and honored to tell such an EPIC story from a unique and different point of view. Bout to be [lit]. Let’s get it.”

The producer gushed about the show to Deadline, stating that the Roc-A-Fella story is “so unbelievable and yet so true.” No release date has been announced about the upcoming series.
