Kim Kardashian is on the July cover of Forbes Magazine, which boasts, “Kim Kardashian: She Made $45 Million From One Game.”

Say what you want about the reality tv star, but her brand has become a serious business and has facilitated a shift in the way brands spend ad dollars and view social commerce. However, while the mother of two might be the face and driving force of the Kardashian brand, the brains and work behind the it is none other than Kris Jenner.

Momager Kris has singlehandedly gotten her entire family paid for simply living life. Utilizing her strategic and business-building skills, her family’s social media accounts are heavily influenced by the products they push, the ventures they support, and the covers they are on.

Head on over to Kylie Jenner‘s Snapchat and find her applying her latest lipstick from her Kylie Lip Kit, which, of course, she uses for her daily beauty routine. Kim will pose with major fashion designers at exclusive events, donning designs created by her fashion industry friends. Recently engaged Rob Kardashian will have his own show with his fiancée, Blac Chyna.

“Whole family gettin’ money, thank God for E!” ~ No More Parties In L.A., Kanye West

Kim’s husband, Kanye West, should have been thanking Kris, because while E! is the platform that pushes the Kardashian drug which America can’t seem to ingest enough of, Kris is the head of the operation. While she may have started out as a flight attendant back in the day, marrying Bruce Jenner and morphing into his manager, Kris was tasked with negotiating endorsement deals and promoting his career as a race-car driver. Fast-forward to 2007, she launched her brainchild, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, with Ryan Seacrest as the executive producer.

Eight years later, with nearly six million views per episode, several spin-offs, and another four seasons secured for a rumored $100 million dollars, the Kardashians are not going anywhere.

Not stopping at TV, Kris has guided the family into launching fashion collections, beauty brands, books, endorsement deals, and more … all while being the most talked about family in America.

Nevertheless, it was Kim who got the glory, not Kris. Did Forbes do it for clickbait and views? (Google search Kim Kardashian and over 107 million results surface in under a minute). Is this media backlash against uplifting and showing empowering women over 50? Of course, we want to view youth and not someone with actual age and life experience (sarcasm). No digs to Kim, who is super successful and one of the hardest working of the Kardashians; however, in this moment, it was Kris who deserved the glory.

Kudos to the Kardashian klan for being one of America’s 25 richest families; coming in at almost a quarter of a billion dollars. However, it was momager Kris who deserved to be the cover star — not Kim. Or maybe … this is just another one of Kris’ genius strategies, putting the face of the family brand on the cover.
