May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Dr. Yashima discussed the importance of maintaining behavioral health in the African American community with the CEO of Hillcrest Children and Family Center, Juanita Price. For 200 years, Hillcrest Children and Family Center has been at the forefront of providing quality health care to those in need. They have programs that offer assistance to approximately 1,500 consumers a month ranging from anger and stress management to addiction counseling. Their goal is to provide treatment to underserved communities, and promote behavioral health awareness. Also joining again us in the studio, licensed psychotherapist Michell Stanley of Moksha Living, a mental wellness studio specializing in holistic psychology.
