Not that anyone really cares, but Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown has officially endorsed her candidate for President and it is…Donald Trump. Sigh yes, you read correctly.

Brown told the New York Daily News that while she lives for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders and is a lifelong Democrat, “she is giving a big shout out to the billionaire presidential frontrunner because she is impressed with his ability to get things done.”

She went on to say, “No matter how many people sabotage his campaign, it keeps growing and growing and growing. I know so many people won’t agree with me and will try to change my mind, but I’m a smart girl. I’m excited…I haven’t been this excited in so long.” She added, “I know people say he’s a racist, but that’s just crazy.”

Just to refresh your memory, Trump is the same person who hesitated to disavow the KKK, has referred to Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “criminals,” vowed to not let Muslims into this country, has called women “fat pigs” and “animals,” has encouraged Nazi Germany behavior during his rallies and egged on his supporters to beat and attack his protesters, many of which are African-American.

If that’s not problematic, we don’t know what is. But OK Foxy girl, you do you. (New York Daily News)

Uncle Ben Claims His Trump Endorsement Came With Special Favors

Not that we’re all that surprised, but in a recent interview GOP ex-Presidential candidate Ben Carson said that while he endorsed Donald Trump for President, he would have preferred to pull his weight behind someone else, but couldn’t.

“I didn’t see a path for [John] Kasich, who I like, or for [Marco] Rubio, who I like. As far as [Ted] Cruz is concerned, I don’t think he’s gonna be able to draw independents and Democrats unless has some kind of miraculous change… Is there another scenario that I would have preferred? Yes. But that scenario isn’t available,” he told the conservative NewsMax TV.

Continuing on, he admitted that his endorsement came with the promise of a seat on Trump’s presidential administration “in an advisory capacity.”  When pressed what role that would be, Carson was mum, telling NewsMax that he couldn’t “reveal any details about it right now, because all of this is still very liquid.” Maybe it’s VP, but we have a feeling Sarah Palin and Chris Christie may have been promised that same job. (ThinkProgress)

Why Are Black Girls Being Pushed Out Of School?

While there is so much talk about the school-to-prison pipeline for young Black boys, very little is said about young Black girls, but it should be says The Atlantic.

Monique W. Morris explores this very notion in her new book Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools, where she examines how racism and patriarchy makes schools increasingly unsafe for our girls to learn or be affirmed. Looking at slavery to Jim Crow to current times, Morris provides evidence on how young Black women and girls are more likely to be harshly punished and expelled from schools compared to their white and Black male counterparts and how that treatment plays out in our girls’ social and economic outcomes.

“I believe it’s important for us to understand that the negative socioeconomic conditions for black women and girls are related to how race, gender, class, sexual identity, ability, and other identities interact with each other to undermine equal access to opportunity,” Morris says. Preach.  (The Atlantic)

Man Tries To Burn Black Gay Couple

Yes, it’s 2016, but it’s hard to tell given the hate crimes that are still committed in this country. The most recent occurred in Texas where a man burned a gay Black couple while they were sleeping.

Suffering from second and third-degree burns, Anthony Gooden, 23, and Marquez Tolbert, 21, are still recovering from the attack that happened on Feb. 12. Tolbert was hospitalized “for 10 days after the incident and Gooden was released on Friday, some five weeks after attack,” according to Project Q Atlanta,

Martin Luther Blackwell, 48, a man who was dating Tolbert’s mother, saw the two men sleeping together on a mattress in the living room and because he didn’t approve of their sexual orientation, he decided to pour boiling water over the loving couple. Blackwell told the police, “They was stuck together like two hot dogs, so I poured a little hot water on them and helped them out,” Blackwell told investigators.

Disgusting. Sending healing vibes to the couple. (Project Q Atlanta)
