If you were wondering who Olivia, Annalise and Meredith are voting for, you don’t have to anymore. A new video, directed by Tony Goldwyn (Scandal’s Fitz), confirms that the Shondaland crew is rolling with Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The words “complicated,” “brilliant” and “strong” are all words that can be used to describe the characters that ABC’s Shonda Rimes creates. The same can be said to describe Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, says Kerry Washington, Viola Davis and Ellen Pompeo. “The real world has Hillary Clinton. A bonafide, rolls up her sleeves, fights for what’s right..That’s why I’m with Hillary,” the four women chant.
The paid 1-minute ad campaign debuted on March 10 during Rimes’ Thursday night dramas.
One important note: After the ad aired, ABC posted up a message saying, “This was a paid political advertisement placed on a number of stations. Broadcasters are required by the FCC to carry these ads,” a means of “not wanting viewers to think this was from them during their primetime with their stars,” Deadline wrote.
