A Metrobus driver chased several teen girls Monday afternoon after they snatched a 61-year-old blind woman’s purse, according to the transit agency.

The woman was getting off the 52 bus at the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station about 3:30 p.m. when she was surrounded by four girls. One of them grabbed the woman’s purse and they ran, Metro said.

The bus operator chased the four teens down the block on foot, and police noticed and joined the pursuit, Metro said. The chase ended inside the L’Enfant Plaza station, and the driver managed to get the woman’s purse back.

A 15-year-old and 16-year-old were handcuffed and charged with robbery force and violence. Another 15-year-old was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and fare evasion. The fourth girl was not charged.
