Best known for her roles in Kill Bill, Soul Food and Curb Your Enthusiasm, Vivica A. Fox has learned the art of mastering a career for well over 20 years. The actress has added another film under her belt where she plays the wife of the legendary coach of the 1988 Carter High football team. The team went on to win a state title, with six to seven players going on to play in the NFL — only to have eight players from that team never see their professional football dreams come true after being arrested for armed robbery.
“It was a wonderful cast. What was great is that we hired a lot of the local talent in Dallas.”
So what’s next for the superstar actress? How about starring in TV One’s original movie, Royal Family Holiday alongside Richard Lawson and Debbie Morgan? And if that’s not enough she is hosting the Allstate Gospel Superfest that will air on the same network Saturday, November 21 at 8p EST. And what about those Independence Day sequel rumors?
“We just completed Independence Day it’s going to be out June 29, 2016 and then coming up in the next two weeks I’m playing Cookie’s older sister on Empire.”
How she’s maintained relevance in her career:
“I was very lucky to have a wonderful business partner. To be able to gracefully go into new chapters. It’s a business. You’ve got to know how to produce. I’ve learned to host shows, to do stage, to do theater, to sell you some hair. I’ve got a new lingerie line coming out. I’m getting into the exercise and health and fitness.”
What she’s looking for in a man:
“We’re going for maturity. I’ve matured from Similac. No more for me. That got me nowhere but an empty stomach.”
