Jacque Reid talks to OBGYN Dr. Drai about mammograms for women in light of the recent changes the American Cancer Society announced this week.

“The OBGYN we’re saying get your mam at age 40. The American Cancer Society…they are saying to screen at age 45.”

Why the differences in ages?

“It’s the risk of the false positive…putting a patient through all the screening.”

Black women with “perky” boobs are harder to detect:

“It’s the collagen we have on our breasts so sometimes it’s hard to get the X-ray to go through our breasts.”
