Group Of Chicago Moms Against Gun Violence Shut Down Local Shootings

When a group of three women were shot at, one of them fatally, in her Chicago neighborhood of Englewood, Tamar Manasseh decided to do something about it. She founded Mothers Against Senseless Killings, an anti-gun violence watch group that surveils neighborhood streets to deter local shootouts. In the five weeks that the group has been formed, there have yet to be any episodes of gun activity. Manasseh spoke on what motivated her to put together the coalition, saying: “I realized that if I’m going to save my own children, I’m going to have to work on saving everyone else’s.” Read more at DNAinfo Chicago.
