The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that Carey will get the 2,556th star on the walk of fame. The ceremony will take place on August 5th, and guest speakers will include Lee Daniels, Brett Ratner, and L.A. Reid.
Given Carey’s credentials, it seems like this move was inevitable or at a long time coming, depending how you look at it. Our girl Mimi is one of the most successful artists in music after having sold millions of albums, winning five Grammys among other awards, and landing 18 number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
