Spelman Halts Bill Cosby’s Endowed Professorship

Spelman has officially terminated the William and Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby Endowed Professorship provided by Bill Cosby and his wife, Camille. The couple donated $20 million to the college back in 1988, the largest single contribution to a black college at the time. The funds in part created the school’s Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby Academic Center. Both of the Cosby’s daughters attended the school; this news comes seven months after Spelman first suspended the professorship from its academic departments. Read more at the New York Times.
