Conference attendees were pepper-sprayed Sunday at the National Convening of the Movement for Black Lives. The event was being held at the Cleveland State University and began peacefully until a teenage boy was found and accused of being intoxicated by the local police who went on to detain and medically evaluate him. He was returned to his mother hours after the incident. Onlookers are refuting the police’s story and are saying that the teen was roughly slammed to the ground. However, the police have not commented on how they handled the boy and insist that they used pepper spray to push back an uncooperative crowd. Read more at The Root.
