With 20 years in the business you’d think Calvin Richardson would be coasting by now, but he’s doing everything but.

The North Carolina native has been writing, recording and performing music since 1995 (he made his solo debut in 1999 with the album Country Boy, helped by K-Ci, Chico DeBarge and Monifah). And for some of your favorite artists too.

Quite possibly one of his biggest hits, is Charlie Wilson‘s There Goes My Baby, which he co-wrote with Babyface.  Interesting right? The 38-year-old has also collaborated with Angie Stone, Rapheal Saadiq and KCi & Jojo (he grew up with the singing brothers).

Often associated with the musical stylings of Marvin Gay, Sam Cooke and his personal favorite Bobby Womack, Calvin has officially stepped out of the shadows of those he created music for with his first single, We Gon’ Love Tonight. The sexy ballad is off his 2014 release I Am Calvin, his first album in four years.
