Actor Anthony Mackie of Captain America fame may have alienated his fans with his views on ‘Selma’ and Black men wearing locs, but he has a chance to redeem himself, at least onscreen, in his new movie Black orWhite.
He co-stars with Kevin Costner, who plays a grandfather who must deal with a custody battle over his biracial granddaughter when his wife dies. With the best intentions at heart, both families fight for what they feel is right and are soon forced to confront their true feelings about race, forgiveness, and understanding.
While Mackie has already said that his earlier comments were ‘taken out of context’ he says starring in Black or White was an easy choice. The film hits theaters January 30th.
