I posted a story last week about a challenge that 50 Cent made to fighter Floyd Mayweather. I found the delivery of the challenge to be funny. Today, I ran across several examples of Floyd’s inability to read. I wish I had never run the story. It turns out that Floyd does struggle to read. He seems to be able to read the words, but it’s not something he can do in a fluid manner. As rich and famous as Mayweather is, I feel sorry for him and I feel shame for those who are using his lack of reading skills to poke fun. I recall that former Washington player Dexter Manley couldn’t read, but he did something about it. As it turns out, there are 32 million adults in America that can’t read. Floyd, you have plenty of money. Use some of it and shut the haters up, it’s never too late to learn.
