imagesIt has happened many times over the years.  Madonna’s “Holiday” could have been a Phyllis Hyman song.  “It’s Raining Men” could have been a big hit for Diana Ross or Aretha.  Can you imagine Janet Jackson singing “How Will I Know”  the Whitney song?  How about Anita Baker singing, “Another Sad Love Song”, the hit song from Toni Braxton?   Songs are not always accepted by the artist who got first shot to record and sometimes they are even taken away, as was the case with the Pebbles song “Girlfriend” which was on it’s way to Vanessa Williams before L.A. Reid laid his eyes on Pebbles.  Sometimes it’s a label decision, as seems to be the case with the Ceelo Green version of  “Happy” by Pharrell.  TMZ caught up with Ceelo for the story.
