Lyfe Jennings has had his ups and downs in life and love, but his pain has been a gift to his fans through his talent for making beautiful muslc. As a younger man, Lyfe was imprisoned for a decade on arson charges. In 2010, he was imprisoned again after a conviction for a 2008 domestic altercation involving a gun and a police chase. Fortunately, Jennings is now a free man, has put those missteps behind him and is releasing a new recording, ” x on October 8. The first single “Boomerang” is out now. As for his life plan going forward, Jennings says he’s learned from his experiences.
“I just stay out them folks way man,” Jennings told XXLmag.com. “I try not to leave the house. I don’t leave the house with any pistols,” he said. “I don’t have any pistols at all, period. I’ve just come to the conclusion, I always think bottom line/end result.”
