The Grio is reporting that a young black activist named Traymon Williams is considering suing Sanford, Florida police after being forced from his car and handcuffed at gunpoint.

27-year-old Williams, his girlfriend Deshonda Robinson, and her younger brother Kelvin Robinson Jr. were driving together on June 26 when they were followed by five police cars before Williams was pulled out of the car at gun point.

According to Sanford police chief Cecil Smith, Williams, Kelvin and Deshonda were cuffed and placed in the back of the police cruiser. However, Smith tells The Grio, the three were released once they found out Williams was not the home burglar they were looking for.

Like the home burglar, Williams also drives a Toyota Camry but Williams attorney points out that the suspect weighs much more than Williams.

The Grio also reports that the Sanford Police department ordered an internal review on the officers.

However, if the review does not solve anything Williams, Deshonda and Kelvin plan to sue the Sanford police department.
