Zelda Wynn Valdes was an African American fashion designer that once told the New York Times, “I just had a God given talent for making people beautiful.” This talent yielded her the opportunity to outfit black stars like Dorothy Dandridge, serve as the head designer for the Dance Theater of Harlem, and to be the first African American to have a boutique on Broadway. She was also commissioned by Hugh Hefner to design the iconic Playboy Bunny outfit. Learn more about Zelda Wynn Valdes here.
