(Waldorf, MD) — A Maryland man is sitting on a pretty big windfall after checking a lottery ticket just two weeks before it was going to expire . Michael Halmon of Waldorf had several tickets he’d purchased over the past five months and checked his Powerball numbers last week to find they were winners. The 49-year-old had been told already he had a winning combination but still didn’t get around to checking the numbers. Tickets must be claimed with the lottery within 182 days of purchase. Halmon is a UPS driver and has six children.
