(Baltimore, MD)  —  Prince George’s County Senator Ulysses Currie is not guilty of taking bribes from the Shoppers grocery chain.

A federal jury acquitted Currie and two Shoppers executives yesterday.  Currie was accused of trading almost a quarter-of-a-million-dollars for helping to push bills in the legislature that would benefit Shoppers.

Senator Currie and his wife were all smiles as they left federal court yesterday.

Juror Steven Cason says he was not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that Currie was out to break the law.
