The Washington Washington Football Team are embarking on several initiatives to promote October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at both FedExField and Washington Football Team Park.

The Washington Football Team’s breast cancer awareness game will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game will feature:
  • Game balls with pink ribbon decals used for every down
  • Pink equipment for players including cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline caps, helmet decals, captains’ patches, chin straps, shoe laces, skull caps, sideline towels, eye shield decals and quarterback towels
  • Pink sideline caps for coaches and sideline personnel and pink ribbon pins for coaches and team executives
  • Pink caps, wristbands, whistles and pins for game officials
  • On-field pink ribbon stencils and A Crucial Catch end zone banners
  • Pink goal post padding in the end zones
  • Breast cancer awareness track jackets for cheerleaders
In conjunction with the team’s health and wellness partners GlaxoSmithKline and CareFirst, fans attending the Oct.16 game will be welcomed by Tanya Snyder, wife of Washington Football Team owner Daniel Snyder, and hundreds of Zeta Tau Alpha members who will distributing THINK-PINK!® ribbons and breast cancer awareness educational materials.
The GW Mammovan, in partnership with The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, will also be on-site through the first quarter to provide educational materials and tours for interested fans.

In addition to game initiatives, on Oct. 11, Chris and Christy Cooley, in partnership with the Washington Washington Football Team, Mrs. Snyder and the American Cancer Society will host the fourth annual All-Star Survivors Celebration event for 20 area women currently battling breast cancer. The breast cancer survivors or “All-Stars’ attending the event will be pampered and supported by a host of players, coaches and wives serving as “Team Captains.”
Mrs. Snyder also joined the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, cancer advocates and survivors on Tuesday, Oct. 4 to emphasize the importance of breast cancer awareness and recognize the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP).

The Washington Washington Football Team Breast Cancer Awareness Month is part of the NFL’s October Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
