(Undated) — Fathers are less likely to die of heart disease than men without children. That’s what a decade-long study finds. The research doesn’t show that not having children causes heart problems in men but the findings suggest that infertility could be a potential early warning sign of future heart trouble. The study found that men without children were 17-percent more likely to die of heart disease than men who fathered children. Researchers say since infertility affects a man’s health at a much younger age this study could help doctors identify heart problems earlier, when there’s more time to treat them. The study is published in the journal “Human Reproduction.”
