(Washington, DC)  —  President Obama rolls out his much-anticipated jobs program before a joint session of Congress tonight.White House spokesman Jay Carney says the proposal should inspire bipartisan support and should have a quick, positive impact on jobs.  Obama’s proposal is expected to call for hundreds of billions of dollars to jumpstart jobs growth.  Republicans, who control the House, are expected to reject any calls for new spending.  Carney said the President will make an aggressive case for Congress to take immediate action to spur hiring.
