(Washington, DC)  —  It could be several days before the lights are back on in all DC area homes and businesses. Power crews have been working around the clock since Irene hit the region.  BGE says thousands remain without power with most customers in Anne Arundel, Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.  The company says it could be Saturday before everyone is back online.  Pepco also reports thousands of outages and spokesman Clay Anderson says falling trees have been creating power problems in some areas where service has already been restored.  Dominion Power crews are also working to restore thousands of outages in northern Virginia.
