At the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center, Camp SETUP offers summer fun and much more to kids in Southeast Washington DC. For six weeks, they experience the thrill of tackling new challenges, from computers to tennis. They discover that reading and math can be fun. They grow strong and fit. And they venture beyond their familiar neighborhoods to explore all that the city has to offer, including museums, cultural events and historic sites. Best of all, by summer’s end, they’re equipped with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in school.
Sadly, cuts in city funding are limiting the number of children that can attend Camp SETUP this year, leaving many kids with little to do. But you can help by donating to the Recreation Wish List Committee and sponsoring a child to attend Camp SETUP. A gift of $200 will send a kid to camp for a week, and $1,000 will give a child up to six weeks of fun-filled learning.
