St. Luke’s House Inc., is a non-profit, community based mental health treatment program. We are located in Bethesda, MD and our misssion is to help people live, learn and work successfully in the community by offering integrated mental health services and community resources. We currently have a full time, 40 hour per week Residential Counselor position available at our residential site in Gaithersburg. The work schedule is: Saturday 1-9 pm, Sunday 8-4 pm , Monday 9-5 pm, Tuesday 9-5 pm and Wednesday 9-5 pm.The Residential Counselor will be responsible for the following functions:
Assist and instruct clients in residential living skills such as menu planning, shopping, cleaning, budgeting and participating in leisure therapeutic recreational activities. Counselors must also provide counseling, behavior management and crisis intervention as well as monitor medication to insure compliance with medical instruction.
A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, counseling or related field is requried. Multiple years of experience may also be substituted for relevant degree. Prior experience working with the mentally ill is preferred.
