(Washington, DC) –Pepco says it’s watching another major weather event that could impact service in the Washington region today. The utility company says with the combination of high winds and rain, trees already weakened by previous storms could cause them to fall onto power lines and cause power outages. Pepco says they’ve put additional linemen crews and contractors on standby to support the restoration process if needed. Pepco has warned customers to report downed wires immediately. Customers also are asked to call Pepco with reports of outages, even if neighbors have already done so.
