(Silver Spring, MD) — Montgomery County Police are looking into claims that a Fourth District officer illegally parked his patrol car in a handicapped parking space at the Rock Creek shopping center in Silver Spring. WJLA-TV spoke with wheelchair-bound Mario Damiani, who was not able to park his handicap-equipped vehicle at the shopping center because the space was occupied by the police crusier.
Damiani, who went to the shopping center to pick up a carryout food order, says he waited in the lot for 20-minutes but never saw the officer return. Police have told WJLA the driver of the cruiser has been identified and the mater is being investigated.
