(Washington, DC)  –Riders on Metrorail’s Red and Blue lines can expect delays this weekend due to track maintenance work .  On the Red Line, it could take an extra 20 minutes of travel time between the Friendship Heights and Medical Center stations as well as between the New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue stations.  On the Blue Line, work between the Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street stations will make the trip about a half-hour longer.  Metro says crews will be upgrading track and infrastructure systems between 10 p.m. Friday and the midnight closing on Sunday.
