SPARKS is seeking motivated candidates with an interest in a career in the electrical trades. If hired, the apprentice will be enrolled in 4-year Electrical Apprenticeship School. Upon graduation, the apprentice will be able to obtain Journeyman’s license in Maryland, DC and Virginia while they will receive a $1.00 increase in pay per State certification. Employee must pay for schooling up front, but if a passing grade is obtained, they will be reimbursed 100%.
? Requires own vehicle for transportation. Most jobsites in DC and Northern VA, some MD as well.
? Ability to work with hands and have basic knowledge and use of basic tools.
? Basic math and reading skills along with the desire to learn.
? Looking for a career in the electrical trade.
? Commitment to achieve excellence with a well-known commercial electrical contractor in the DC Metro region.
$13.00/hour to start as Contractor position. If hired after 640 hours the rate will then increase to $13.50/hour with the potential for a 90-cent increase every 6 months. Apprentices must wear appropriate jobsite clothing, jeans, work boots etc. High School diploma or GED to enter Apprentice School program is required. Background check and drug test are required.
