In recent interview on First Take, Stephen Smith was speaking about New York Knicks president, Phil Jackson, when he said, “His first move as executive of the New York Knicks was to sign Lamar Odom, who was on crack!”

This didn’t sit too well with Odom, who just one day before the interview, went to a rehab in Florida to speak with young patients battling addiction.

Odom’s lawyer, Saam Zangeneh, wrote a letter to ESPN where he brought to light that Odom passed all drug tests but moreover questioned how Smith’s comment might impact other professional athletes battling addiction.

In the letter, Zangeneh wants ESPN to take proper action against Smith for his comments. Lamar posted the letter on Twitter with the hashtags #slander and #ihopewearebetterthanthis

Did Stephen Smith go too far with his crack comments in reference to Odom or is Lamar overreacting to what was supposed to be a dig at Phil Jackson? Watch the clip below and tell us what you think.
