Halle Berry will grace the cover of American Vogue’s September issue, according to reports that cite inside sources at the magazine.
If the rumors are true (and we hope they are), this cover will only be slightly less than groundbreaking.
There hasn’t been a black woman on a September cover of American Vogue since Anna Wintour broke ground and put Naomi Campbell on the front of the September 1989 book.
The cover will coincide with the release of Berry’s new fragrance, Reveal, which will be revealed in August, and the premiere of her new movie Frankie and Alice, which is set to hit theaters this fall.
The September issue is usually the biggest (literally!) and baddest of all fashion mags, as they preview the coming trends for Fall. A documentary was even made chronicling the days of preparation for Vogue’s 2007 issue.
