Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8:30 A – 5:00 P for the most part, with 1 Evening per week required. The clincinan will work in the Merrifield BH Facility.
Child Psychologist Position – requires Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, a minimum of 5 years experience as well as licensure in Virginia.
Preferences: experience and demonstrated skill in working with very young children, including those presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Independent practice experience, flexibility, and astute diagnostic skills will be very important. The clinician will work with young children, families and adolescents. Skill and knowledge in the areas of: acuity, crisis assessment/ management will be important. Success in this position necessitates the ability to work independently and collaborate well with psychiatrists, pediatric staff and other therapists in the provision of individaul, family & case management services.
PURPOSE: The Child Psychologist evaluates and treats patients referred by mental health providers, conducts family therapy, consults with primary care providers regarding mental health aspects of family and patient management and performs psychological testing.
