This is a very bizarre story, that unfortunately highlights a double standard in America.
Denton, Texas (about 48 minutes outside of Dallas) police recently pulled over a White male on a DWI suspicion. Things quickly got out of hand and the suspect, Christopher Roger, not only punched the officer but bit off a part of his ear.
The officer eventually got control of the situation after resorting to using his taser—not his gun.
If this officer was able to resort to non-lethal tactics, even when his life was clearly threatened, then why can’t others?
In America, there have been countless Black males who have been shot and killed by law enforcement for doing a whole lot less.

Back in September of 2018, Botham Jean was killed by a Dallas Police officer in his own apartment–which the officer claims she thought was hers. His crime? Being Black at home.
