In the first week of January, news hit that someone started a GoFundMe page to help kids in Harlem see the Black Panther movie.

The story went viral and since then, the fundraiser has raised over $42,000. All of the excess proceeds were set to go to The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem

Now the campaign has ignited similar ones across the country where people can raise money in their own neighborhood under the #BlackPantherChallenge.

The founder of the original Harlem fundraiser Frederick Joseph appeared on Ellen recently and discussed the impact of the movement. Ellen responded by upping the generosity and giving back in her usual grandiose way. Check out what went down in the clip below.
