Former NBA player Kermit Washington was able to strike a deal in exchange for pleading guilty to felony charges that could reduce his prison sentence by as much as 30 years.

The former All-Star and All-Defensive Team player for the L.A. Lakers, Boston Celtics, Portland Trailblazers, and San Diego Clippers was charged with embezzling charitable donations collected for helping the needy in Africa and laundering it through his non-profit Project Contact Africa.

Roughly $487K was stolen by Washington but thanks to the deal he struck with prosecution, he will likely serve no more than 8 years for his crimes.
