Rhonda Kemp Shoffner, 41, was on her third day in a row of non-stop drunkenness in March of this year when she decided to take her anger out on her 12 year old daughter, who was unable to reach family members on the phone.

Shoffner ordered her daughter to get on her knees which meant it was time for a beating, but instead she demanded her daughter repeat Bible verses she quoted. Each time the daughter messed up a verse, Shoffner would bang her head against the wall bathroom wall.

After bashing her daughter’s head against the wall five times, Shoffner then chocked and bit the girl. She then ordered her daughter to “leave and don’t ever come back.”  The girl left and called her father, who took her to file a police report.

Shoffner was arrested and held on $100,000 bail on March 29. Last week Shoffner went to court and was sentenced to no less than two and half years and up to five years in prison, and will also have to serve 5 years probation after being released.
