The leaders of the Charlottesville have voted to drape the statues of Confederate soldiers Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson 10 days after the violence that has left many questioning the statues relevance.

The statues are now covered with a black fabric which comes days after a very heated city council meeting where residents expressed anger for how the city handled the white supremacist rally that left 3 people dead.

After seeing the residents scream and chant in unison, the city did the right thing as anything else would have caused more issues.

The question remains if the city will vote to permanently remove the statues. Is it time for the statues to come down?
