Congratulations are in order to former NFL player Dr. Myron Rolle who recently graduated from Florida State Medical School on Saturday.
Rolle played at FSU from 2006-2008 while in undergrad and took a break afterwards to become a Rhodes scholar, one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world, earning a master’s degree in medical anthropology.
He played for the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburg Steelers before retiring in 2013 to get his medical degree. What’s interesting is that Rolle cites Ben Carson, who today he calls a mentor, for being an inspiration after reading Dr. Carson’s book Gifted Hands in the 5th grade.
In June Dr. Myron Rolle will go to Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital for his residency to become a physician with a specialty in neurosurgery.
