Remember that belligerent Donald Trump supporter who sucker-punched a Black man at a rally for the president-elect? Well he’s back with a new outlook and a promise to help heal the division in our country.

Yes, really.

John Franklin McGraw, 79, of Linden, North Carolina received probation this week after he was captured on video punching Rakeem Jones as he was being escorted from a rally for Trump. The video later went viral and when asked if he felt any remorse for his actions, he told Inside Edition that Jones “deserved it.”

“The next time we see him, we might have to kill him. We don’t know who he is. He might be with a terrorist organization,” he said of Jones. “You bet I liked it. Knocking the hell out of that big mouth … we don’t know if he’s ISIS. We don’t know who he is, but we know he’s not acting like an American.”

But at a sentencing Wednesday, McGraw insisted that his actions were not racially motivated, adding that he and Jones were just caught up in a “political mess.”

Jones accepted his apology and the two even hugged in the courtroom, and he pledged to work with McGraw to help heal the division in our country.

“It just felt good to be able to shake his hand … and face him,” Jones said.
