In good karma news:The inmate who assaulted Dylann Roof is now out on bond thanks to people raising money for him. When news hit that he attacked the suspected killer, donations just started pouring in.

According to Live 5 News25-year-old Dwayne Stafford was released from the Charleston County Detention Center on Friday night after his $100,000 bond was posted. Whether or not the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is happy about Stafford going home, they admitted that they have “no control” on who can post bond for incarcerated inmates.

Stafford was in jail on charges of armed robbery, assault and lying to police, Live 5 noted.

Of course Twitter was here for this news:

As HELLO BEAUTIFUL previously reported, Stafford escaped his room, ran down a flight of stairs and hit Roof several times in the face and body near the showers. While, Roof suffered minor bruises on his face and back, his lawyers don’t plan on pressing charges against Stafford, according to a jail spokesperson. However, authorities will continue to investigate how Stafford was able to escape his cell because a faulty door lock.

As we know, Roof is awaiting trial for the June 2015 shooting at Emanuel AME Church, where he faces 33 charges, including murdering nine people. A federal prosecutor has stressed that she will pursue the death penalty in this case.
