After being separated since 2004, Bonnie Pointer (one of the Pointer Sister’s) finally finalized her divorce from Motown Producer Jeffery Bowen.The two were married for 35 years and had no community property, but Bonnie’s music rights were at stake!
During the proceedings, Bonnie called her music royalties her only separate property and the judge entered a default judgement in Bonnie’s favor. Luckily, she was able to retain the rights to her music. This has been going on for a long time, but it was well worth the wait.
Neither were ordered to pay spousal support, so in a way everybody wins.
