Suge Knight is set to go before a judge next week to request that he be allowed visitation privileges. He’s asking the court for mercy because he’s afraid that his parents will die before he’s released from prison.

Suge says his 74 and 77-year-old parents are in really bad shape and he’s begging the judge to allow him to see them. He’s also requesting phone privileges so he can speak to them.

Now Suge is currently in jail awaiting trial for his arrest in January 2015, when he allegedly ran over two Compton men with his pickup truck after an argument. One of the victims later died from his injuries, so he’s being charged with second degree murder. The judge set bail at $10 million for Knight’s second-degree murder charges, which Knight and his attorneys say he is unable to raise because of his previous charges in 2014.

In October 2014, Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams were both arrested in connection with the alleged theft of a paparazzo’s camera in September 2014. Suge Knight was released on 2.2  million dollar bail, but bail was revoked after the fatal hit-and-run. Authorities deemed Suge a flight risk and noted that Suge has an alleged history of witness tampering. What this means is that even if he were able to post the $10 million for the Compton case, he wouldn’t be free to leave jail until the case against him and Katt Williams goes to trial.

Suge has now fired FOUR attorneys, including the infamous Thomas Mesereau! Mesereau is the attorney that secured an acquittal for Michael Jackson back in 2005. He’s now hired former prosecutor Stephen L. Schwartz, and hopes that he can get him out of this mess.

All of Suge Knight’s attorneys have maintained that Suge acted in self-defense. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison on the robbery charge because of a prior felony conviction for assault with a deadly weapon. And if he is also convicted of second-degree murder, Suge Knight faces life in prison.
