The Tony nominations were recently announced days ago…and I’m not surprised that The Color Purple was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, because it was AMAZING!
Most of the cast members were also nominated…deservedly so. But ONE cast member was not nominated. The STAR of the show…Jennifer Hudson! And she did her thing as Shug Avery…packing the house nightly. So, why was everyone else nominated for a Tony, BUT Jennifer?
Inquiring minds want to know. And she was definitely feeling some kind of way because one fan tweeted about it and Jennifer responded:

It’s unclear who Hudson is referring to that “used” her presence — perhaps the producers of the show she was starring in, who featured her prominently on billboards and posters to advertise the show she was starring in.
Naturally, Jennifer quickly deleted the tweet. But foul is foul either way!
