Zoe Kravitz is on her way to becoming Hollywood’s next “it” girl. With several films under her belt, the rising star is following in the footsteps of her famous mother and father Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz.

Zoe, like plenty of other children born into the spotlight, suffered from an eating disorder and opened up about about her struggles with body image in the latest issue of Complex magazine.

“I had a really hard time when I was 16, 17, 18. I started with the eating disorder in high school…Just [a hard time] loving myself….I think it was part of being a woman, and being surrounded by [fame]. I don’t think it was about the fame, but I think it was definitely about being around that world, seeing that world. I felt pressured,” she admitted.

She also revealed her struggles with feeling normal.

“When I was younger. I really wanted to prove to people I was a normal human being, that I was cool, chill. When kids were mean, the first thing they’d say is, ‘She thinks she’s so fucking cool because her dad is famous’. I just wanted to fit in.”

In an 2014 interview, Zoe revealed she used to eat clay to lose weight. “I ended up drinking clay because it cleans out your body and fills you up. I was eating like a Mason jar of pureed vegetables a day and running.”

While Zoe is a beautiful girl herself, she says her mother’s beauty added to her insecurities.

“It’s either: you’re conceited, or insecure, as opposed to just loving yourself…My mother’s a… …beautiful woman, and I think, in some way, I felt intimidated by that sometimes. My dad dated a lot of supermodels.”

Zoe is also promoting her new film “Mad Max: Fury Road” starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.
