Dear Tom,

I volunteer here in Atlanta by serving meals at several shelters. I also follow the families when they are released from the shelters to make sure their situations are so that they won’t have to return. I met Emlyn Michel Edwards and her five wonderful children during her rough journey at several different shelters.

Emlyn’s health prevented her from keeping a job which caused a hardship for her. She moved from shelter to shelter to shelter until she was finally able to return to Brooklyn to a stable environment. The one thing I noticed about Emlyn is that she is a good, loving mother. Her children were extremely happy and well-adjusted in spite of their insecure home-life.

Tom, in Brooklyn, the four eldest children, who are in elementary school, all exceed in academics and conduct.  Their one wish is to have bicycles to ride in their neighborhood.     While i would love to be able to buy one for each of them—I can’t. It would be super wonderful if Santa tom could provide four bikes and a tricycle for Emlyn’s two year-old toddler.  Of course, it would be icing on the cake if you could fly me to Brooklyn so that I can visit them — I miss the children something awful and would love to see them again!
