Today’s “Thursday Morning Mom” winner is Donna Partee from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Read the letter from her son, Quinton, below:

Dear Tom,

My parents met when they were 17 years old. She was Donna from the block – they were friends first. then one day, he asked her out on a date. then he asked her to be his girlfriend and now, they have been married for 28 years.

My father – Retired Master Sergeant Billy Partee – served in the U.S. Army for 24 years and our family moved around from base to base (including Iraq) until we settled here in Indy.

During that time My mother was active in the Family Readiness Group. As a mother of 4 boys, she helped women cope with the stress of being a military mothers & wives.  She has always been active in church with the women’s ministry, as a youth adviser and as a Sunday school teacher.

Right now, she is a godmother to 3 girls, as well as a proud grandmother of 3 toddler boys and she spoils them every moment she gets. this coming May, she will be a proud mother of 3 college graduates.

She loves to interior decorating and the house she’s in now has been a work in progress since they settled in once we knew my dad would be retiring. It looks finished to me, but she says it still needs a few finishing touches to make it feel like home. I know that would make her happy.

Signed,

Quinton
